About the position
Hanna Interpreting Services LLC is seeking ASL (American Sign Language) interpreters to work as freelance interpreters in a 1099 Independent Contractor role. The position allows interpreters to set their own schedules and accept appointments based on availability, contributing positively to society by providing language access for individuals who need it. The role is flexible, with appointments available Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, although they are not guaranteed and depend on demand.
Responsibilities
- Provide ASL interpretation services in various settings as needed.
- Adapt to different work environments and settings for interpretation.
- Complete required documentation and assessments in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with clients to ensure understanding and clarity.
Requirements
- Exhibit proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language).
- Willingness to complete an ASL assessment by a Certified ASL Professional.
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience interpreting in a professional or volunteer capacity.
