Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and impartial interpretation services from spoken English to ASL and vice versa.
• Interpret in diverse environments, including classrooms, meetings, conferences, and other events.
• Work with individuals with varying levels of ASL proficiency.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the RID code of professional conduct.
• Adapt interpretations to accommodate different signing styles and regional sign variations.
• Clarify and explain concepts as needed while maintaining the integrity of the message.
• Assist in creating an inclusive and accessible environment for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
• Engage in professional development to stay updated on best practices in ASL interpreting and Deaf culture.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an ASL Interpreter.
• ASL Certification is required.
