About the position

The Associate Degree Nursing Instructor at Currahee Campus is responsible for implementing, revising, and evaluating the nursing program's curriculum in accordance with state standards and the college's approved curriculum. This role focuses on providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet industry demands while ensuring their academic and personal growth. The instructor will engage in various teaching methodologies, oversee experiential learning components, and maintain program certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives that meet individual needs and state standards.
  • Create appropriate course syllabi and lesson plans, organizing daily classes using innovative techniques.
  • Evaluate students' progress and performance regularly, providing timely feedback.
  • Oversee and manage experiential learning components, including live work and internships.
  • Coordinate course needs for adjunct instructors and maintain student attendance records.
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment, preparing budget requests as needed.
  • Participate in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development activities.
  • Maintain program certification requirements and prepare necessary documentation and reports.
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
  • Plan and implement a lab management and safety plan.
  • Meet with students and staff to discuss instructional programs and student progress.
  • Conduct student advisement regarding career choices and job opportunities.
  • Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts, especially for underrepresented genders in nontraditional programs.
  • Meet departmental and division deadlines for all required tasks.
  • Promote a positive image of the college and its programs, demonstrating innovation and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain contact with the business community to stay updated on technological changes and community needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Three years of work experience as a nurse within the past five years.
  • Georgia RN license in good standing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Teaching experience in an Associate degree nursing program.
  • Teaching experience in an accredited nursing program.
  • Experience using simulation equipment for nursing education.
  • Experience with assessment testing for admission and program progression.
