About the position

The ASO Director of Finance at the University of Florida is responsible for managing the annual budget process for the CTSI, overseeing financial management and operations, and providing fiscal analysis and reporting. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support budget development, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and leading a fiscal team to enhance financial workflows and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the CTSI Annual Budget process, evaluating the needs of various programs.
  • Support stakeholders with budget development and review internal requests for expense approvals.
  • Provide budget projections and ensure funds are available for all projects in coordination with Grants Specialists.
  • Establish goals and performance objectives around the budget process and document guidelines for the annual budget process.
  • Oversee financial management and operations, including departmental budget requests and managing UF Foundation accounts.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of program expenses and analyze budget versus expenses.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial statements to CTSI leadership.
  • Oversee purchasing, payables, and travel within CTSI, reviewing and approving all related requests.
  • Manage the fiscal team, establishing performance goals and providing support and guidance to financial service teams.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies for the institute.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree and six years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of UF Business Operations and Management.
  • Extensive experience with financial statement preparation and presentation.
  • Experience in NIH and College of Medicine budget development.
  • Knowledge of UF Auxiliary/Fee for Service Educational Activity (FSEA) and Grant Accounting Directives and Procedures.
  • Proficiency in using, creating, and running reports in MS Teams, Excel, and Enterprise Analytics.
  • Extensive working knowledge of PeopleSoft and OneStream.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, research-oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience leading financial teams and creating financial dashboards.
