About the position
The Asphalt Crew Member position at Atlantic Southern Paving involves working as part of a construction/paving crew to assist in various tasks related to asphalt maintenance and repair. The role requires physical strength and the ability to operate motorized equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency on the job site.
Responsibilities
- Assist construction/paving crew with various duties such as shoveling and raking, running wheelbarrow, and safely backing/dumping trucks into paver.
- Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials with shovel.
- Digs, spreads, and levels construction materials.
- Lifts, carries, and holds material, tools, and supplies.
- Assists in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.
- Perform general construction labor including job site clean-up and moving of materials by hand.
- Operate motorized equipment including power tools, saws, hammers, nails, and bolts.
- Install reshores per instructions.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Concrete/Asphalt laborer, a construction laborer, or as a concrete finisher is required.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds.
- Ability to manufacture large precast construction components.
- Must be able to patch and operate all equipment involved.
