About the position

The Asphalt Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Metro Colorado Asphalt Production facilities. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the asphalt manufacturing process, including plant repairs and maintenance. The manager will ensure a high-quality experience for customers while balancing the costs of operations sustainably. A significant focus of this position is on customer service, scheduling, labor and equipment utilization, and providing overall leadership for the asphalt manufacturing operation. The Asphalt Production Manager will work closely with the leadership team, which includes Safety, Operations, Sales, HR, and Shop Managers, to maintain the company's status as the supplier of choice for customers and to drive financial performance. In this role, the manager will be tasked with fostering a culture that prioritizes safety, employee engagement, ownership, and collaboration in line with company policies. This includes hiring, training, motivating, planning, and directing work, managing performance, and resolving issues to ensure that performance targets are met or exceeded. Effective communication with various departments such as Sales, Project Management, Operations, HR, Shops, and Safety is crucial to stimulate an environment of collaboration and cooperation. The manager will also connect regularly with other Area Production Managers to maximize resource utilization and efficiencies, ensuring that the asphalt production process runs smoothly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage the asphalt plant teams to foster a culture of safety, employee engagement, ownership, and collaboration.
• Hire, train, motivate, plan, and direct work for the asphalt plant teams.
• Manage performance and resolve issues to meet or exceed assigned performance targets.
• Communicate effectively with Sales, Project Management, Operations, HR, Shops, and Safety departments to promote collaboration.
• Connect with other Area Production Managers to maximize resource utilization and efficiencies.
