About the position

The position is responsible for managing and overseeing the Staker Parson Materials & Construction Asphalt team, ensuring safety, quality, customer service, and profitability while fostering a positive work environment. The role involves collaboration with various departments, financial oversight, and leadership in operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Safety and Environmental departments to maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Oversee Asphalt Operations and Quality Control including the P&L for Asphalt line of business.
  • Report Asphalt line of business performance to Senior Leadership.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure safety, quality, customer service, profitability, and a great workplace.
  • Support financial success by driving profitability and executing profit improvement strategies.
  • Support Quality Control team in ensuring high-quality products and maximizing mix efficiency.
  • Drive mix optimization efforts and support environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Maximize customer satisfaction with quality materials and ensure product specifications are met.
  • Interact with customers to build strong relationships and partnerships.
  • Manage KPIs including binder replacement, waste, variable cost, ASP, energy, reliability, and overall margin.
  • Plan capital expenditures and manage project proposals for plants.
  • Ensure overall repairs and maintenance of plants for maximum reliability and reduced costs.
  • Lead a best-in-class preventative maintenance program.
  • Collaborate with equipment team to ensure reliable equipment.
  • Manage resources effectively and establish a long-term equipment program.
  • Collaborate with sales team to grow sales volumes and margins.
  • Attract, hire, and develop talented team members to drive high performance.
  • Participate in talent management and support continuous feedback.
  • Develop, coach, and support the team by fostering a growth mindset culture.
  • Participate in Divisional and National Performance Committees as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in operations.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations and inspections.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong understanding of leadership principles.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to respond professionally to stressful situations and customers.
  • Effective prioritization of assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
