The Health Advocacy Concierge position at HCSC is designed for individuals who are compassionate and dedicated advocates for members. Responsibilities
- Assist members in maximizing their benefits and navigating the healthcare system.
- Provide guidance and answer questions regarding benefits and medical claims.
- Educate members about health and wellness programs.
- Acquire knowledge of tools and health programs to facilitate care plans.
- Help members assess available tools for decision-making regarding their health.
- Emphasize adherence to the personal plan of care for members.
- Facilitate member selection and access to in-network healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with providers, families, and patients to meet member needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Associate degree OR 1 year of customer service experience.
- Experience building trust with customers.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, including motivational interviewing.
- Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Web and PC proficiency.
Nice-to-haves
- Associate degree in Health Science or Health Studies or Bachelor's degree.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- 3 years of customer service experience in an insurance environment.
- Clinical or social work expertise.
- Experience in coordinating medical services.
- Knowledge of health benefit plans and the insurance industry.
