About the position

The position involves the assembly of Cushion-Dek mats, which requires a variety of tasks including cutting, gluing, and beveling the mats to ensure they meet quality standards. The employee will read the production schedule to determine the necessary dimensions for the mats and will lay out product tiles face down, securely locking the pieces together using a safe bonding adhesive for added security. The role also involves cutting tabs off the edges of the tiles and beveling the perimeters of the mats using a planer. Continuous monitoring of product quality is essential to ensure compliance with established standards. Once the mats are assembled, the employee will roll them up and package them according to specifications, ensuring proper labeling. Additionally, the employee will complete a daily production report and assist in maintaining the department in accordance with good housekeeping practices. Observing all safety and environmental procedures is crucial, and the employee may also provide relief for oven staff during breaks or in the event of an absence. Other duties may be assigned by supervision as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedule to determine length and width of mat.
• Lay out product tiles face down and lock pieces together securely.
• Cut tabs off edges of tile.
• Bevel the perimeters of mat using a planer.
• Continuously monitor the quality of the product to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Roll up mat and properly package and label according to specifications or tags.
• Complete daily production report.
• Assist in maintaining department in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
• Observe all safety and environmental procedures.
• Provide relief for oven staff for breaks or in the event of an absence.
• Perform other duties as requested by supervision.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch.
