The Assembler position at Doosan Bobcat NA is a critical role responsible for the assembly of metal products, either partially or completely, while positioning various parts according to established guidelines. The assembler will utilize their knowledge of the unit being assembled or follow blueprints, diagrams, layouts, or oral instructions to ensure accurate assembly. This role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under time constraints to meet production requirements. In this position, the assembler will be tasked with fastening parts together using various methods, including bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, and other fasteners, employing hand, air, and power tools. The role also involves removing small quantities of metal to achieve a close fit between parts and tending to machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations as specified. Safety is paramount, and the assembler must perform all duties in compliance with safety rules and regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work area. Additionally, the assembler may assist in the instruction and training of new employees as requested by their supervisor. The position may require additional responsibilities and the ability to work overtime hours, reflecting the dynamic nature of the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or blueprint.
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners using hand, air and/or power tools.
  • Removes small quantities of metal to produce close fit between parts.
  • Tends to machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations as specified.
  • Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Keeps area clean and organized.
  • Assists in the instruction and training of others as requested by supervisor.
  • May require additional responsibility and ability to work overtime hours.

Requirements

  • Work experience of 0-2 years or more, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly.
  • Ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods to meet build requirements.
  • Ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms, typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma or GED.
