About the position

The Assembler I - Panel Worker position at Dover Food Retail involves planning layouts, installing, and repairing wiring, apparatus, and control equipment. The role is essential in ensuring the proper functioning of electrical systems within the manufacturing environment, contributing to the production of display cases and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs wiring, apparatus, and control equipment.
• Measures, cuts, bends, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
• Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads and soldering wire together.
• Connects wiring to panel boxes.
• Installs switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
• Pulls wiring through conduit.
• Performs wiring of standard, medium, and complex panels.
• Handles transformer wiring and tie-in compressor panels.
• Wires defrost systems, lights, receptacles, fire-stats, and thermostats.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and interpret bar graphs.
• Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
