About the position

The Assembler I position at Hillphoenix Inc. involves the assembly, installation, and repair of sheet metal products, parts, and equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring that the products meet the quality standards and specifications set by the company. The assembler will work with various materials and tools to create units such as exhaust fans, house doors, damper hoods, and pan rings, following specific job orders. Attention to detail is essential, as the assembler will need to smooth burred surfaces using files and grinders, lay and attach metal or wood flooring, and apply primer, paint, and caulk as necessary. The position also requires performing close-up requirements and other duties as assigned by supervisors. In this role, the assembler will be expected to understand structural drawings and apply basic math skills to ensure accurate assembly. Familiarity with the 6S methodology is beneficial, as it promotes a clean and organized work environment. The assembler will utilize various hand tools and pneumatic/hydraulic tools, and must be able to read and understand a tape measure. Additionally, the ability to operate a forklift and lift up to 50 pounds is required. Responsibilities

  • Assembles units, exhaust fans, house doors, damper hoods, and makes pan rings according to job order
  • Smooths burred surfaces with files and grinders
  • Lays and attaches metal or wood flooring and/or covering
  • Applies primer, paint, and caulk as needed
  • Performs close-up requirements
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training
  • Ability to understand structural drawings
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic reading/writing skills
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools
  • Ability to read/understand a tape measure
  • Ability to use a paintbrush
  • Ability to operate air-assisted paint gun
  • Knowledge of different types of flooring
  • Knowledge and understanding of metal types and gauging
  • Ability to utilize pneumatic/hydraulic hand tools
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
