About the position

The Lift Assembler I position at Wabtec Bus Solutions involves performing mechanical assembly work of medium complexity, specifically assembling hydraulic and electro-mechanical lifts and ramps. The role requires the use of blueprints and schematics to ensure proper assembly and testing of components, while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. This position is integral to the final assembly process and contributes to the company's mission of delivering innovative transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assembles hydraulic and electro-mechanical lifts and ramps at different stages of the process including the final assembly.
• Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and tests their free movement.
• Inspects components from previous operations.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
• Checks, tests, and adjusts parts and mechanics to meet product specifications.
• Operates machines and automatic tools; inspects and tests final assembly.
• Reports unusual problems to supervisor.
• Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
• Performs basic mechanical tasks and rework as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical studies preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Forklift Certification may be required.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in Spanish and/or English.
• Manual dexterity and ability to work with hand tools such as air power impact guns, rivet guns, and basic hand tools.
