About the position

The Finished Goods Assembler is responsible for preparing manufactured and purchased products into saleable units through various processes including printing, bagging, labeling, and assembling. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to follow specific instructions to ensure product quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Execute shop orders based on priority assigned by leader
  • Learn each skill in the department, including printing machines, bagging machines, and assembly
  • Determine cliches and ink color according to routing instructions for printing machine use
  • Measure parts by gauge size and polarity before starting a job
  • Determine bag size, part number, and quantity according to the shop order prior to bagging on the machine
  • Adjust tolerances on the bagging machine and label software for label accuracy
  • Follow detailed routing instructions to ensure all necessary components are on hand and accurate for assembly task completion
  • Use computer to determine components/locations/quantities needed for fulfilling shop order
  • Use hot and cold solder for fusion parts according to instructions
  • Perform data entry for manually closing shop orders at each routing step
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations
  • Report unsafe acts to supervisor
  • Clean and maintain work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership team

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to use a scale and tape measurer
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend in English
  • Ability to complete and comprehend pick tickets, bill of materials, and routing instructions
  • Proficient with intermediate computer data entry
  • Requires high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Team-oriented
  • Ability to work with acetone, paint, and wax fumes
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours or more
  • 20/30 vision or better, or corrective glasses that meet this requirement

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 to 6 months assembly experience
