About the position
The Assembler II position at Hillphoenix Inc. involves working as part of a production team to manufacture and assemble high-quality glass doors, frames, and subcomponents. The role requires adherence to safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets while following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities
- Assemble component parts into sub-assemblies, assemblies, and completed units according to assembly traveler/standard work instructions.
- Use hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools for assembly tasks.
- Maintain acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
- Keep work area and common areas clean and orderly by practicing 6-S.
- Perform minor adjustments or setups to equipment or machines under supervision.
- Inspect parts or completed units using visual inspection and various measuring tools.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the lead person or department supervisor.
- Follow SOPs and instructions from leads and supervisors.
- Cross-train team members and assist with production as needed.
- Perform a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of production assembly work.
- Basic reading/writing skills.
- Basic PC skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of 6S principles.
- Ability to read and understand job specifications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for long periods.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable.
