Assembler/Machine Builder

About the position

At JBT Corporation, we are committed to fortifying the future of food through our innovative food and beverage technology. We are looking for a dedicated individual to perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, hydraulic and pneumatic piping on a complete line of food processing equipment. This role requires the ability to work from mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, work instructions, and shop routings. The successful candidate will operate power tools, fabrication equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts, and will be responsible for performing operational testing to ensure that equipment meets test specifications. Knowledge or experience in gas-fired equipment is desirable, as well as experience or aptitude in operating and testing Industrial Controls, Variable Frequency Drives, servo-motor controls, cameras, and/or laser scanners.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, hydraulic and pneumatic piping functions.
• Use hand tools, measurement tools, and fabrication techniques for assembly processes.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics; use computers to review CAD models, drawings, and Bills of Materials.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment and complete tasks based on oral and written instructions.
• Adhere to internal operating procedures and safety policies; maintain acceptable housekeeping practices in the work area.
• Responsible for quality control; adjust as necessary to produce products within specifications.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Previous mechanical working experience preferred.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
• Weld experience preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge or experience in gas-fired equipment.
• Experience or aptitude in operating and testing Industrial Controls, Variable Frequency Drives, servo-motor controls, cameras, and/or laser scanners.
