About the position

As an Assembler at Newell Brands, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations by working as part of a dedicated team responsible for moving freight, stock, and other materials. Your primary focus will be on safely operating forklifts and other industrial vehicles to transport products, materials, or equipment to and from various locations within the facility. This position is essential for maintaining the productivity of our manufacturing processes and ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will be tasked with reading and attaching identifying tags to containers, materials, or product packaging, ensuring that all items are marked correctly for easy identification. Regular inspections of manufactured goods will be part of your responsibilities, as you will need to ensure that products meet our high-quality standards. Any defects or issues identified during these inspections should be reported promptly to the quality team or your supervisor. You will also be required to use an operator computer to update, track, and record inventory, materials, or finished goods, which is vital for maintaining accurate records and ensuring that our operations are well-organized. Safety is a top priority at Newell Brands, and you will be expected to maintain a safe and accident-free environment by adhering to all safety standards and reporting any safety issues to your supervisor or the safety manager. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping your work area clean and organized, which includes shoveling, sweeping, and wiping down equipment, tools, and machinery. Assembling and packaging manufactured goods will also be part of your daily tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our production line.

Responsibilities

  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, leading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers by hand or using forklifts or other industrial vehicles.
  • Read and attach identifying tags to containers, material, or product packaging, or mark them with identifying information.
  • Conduct regular inspections of manufactured goods to ensure product meets quality standards, reporting any defects to the quality team and/or supervisor.
  • Use operator computer to update, track and record inventory, materials, or finished goods.
  • Maintain a safe and accident-free environment by adhering to safety standards and identifying safety issues and reporting them to his/her supervisor or the safety manager.
  • Shovel, sweep, wipe down or otherwise clean work areas, equipment, tools, and machinery.
  • Assemble and/or package manufactured goods.
  • Use computer to report defective pieces, problems with process, product, or manufacturing machinery.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs.
  • Must be a team player and able to communicate effectively with co-workers and leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
