About the position

As an Assembler at Masonite, you will play a crucial role in our production line, specifically focusing on the assembly of door units. Your primary responsibilities will include measuring, cutting, and assembling various types of door units, including Patio Stock, Interior Stock, and Entry Stock. You will be required to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for your specific job assignment, ensuring that all materials used are correct and meet quality expectations. This position involves working under immediate supervision and requires a strong attention to detail to verify that components are placed correctly according to the SOP. In this role, you will be responsible for palletizing, wrapping, and labeling units as needed. You will also assemble fabricated parts into larger subassemblies and complete units, testing and calibrating parts and mechanisms to ensure they meet tolerances and product specifications. The job will require you to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform your functions effectively. You will repeat tasks until the entire door stack is complete and will be expected to clean up your work area at the end of your shift, maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Additionally, you will assist with various manual labor tasks as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the production line. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to avoid disruptions in production and customer service. This position may involve some repetitive motions, including bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and containers, and requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Verify materials being used is correct by reading the bill of materials
  • Ensure materials meet quality expectations
  • Palletize, wrap, and label units as needed
  • Assemble fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units
  • Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Verify that components are being placed in the correct position per SOP
  • Repeat tasks until entire door stack is complete
  • Clean up work area when shift ends
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Assist a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Strong analytical skills & knowledge of all door components
  • Efficient with multiple manual machines and pneumatic equipment such as Nail Gun, Screw Gun, Router, Tape Measure, Square
  • Ability to organize and maintain detailed records
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task
  • Read and understand bill of materials
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and have basic math skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrate solid teamwork abilities
  • Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job

Nice-to-haves
