About the position

The Assembler position at Positronic Industries involves assembling electronic components and systems to ensure customer satisfaction. The role requires following production drawings, using various tools and techniques to join parts, and performing quality control checks to meet production standards. The assembler will work in a team-oriented environment, adhering to safety and quality standards while contributing to the overall production process.

Responsibilities

  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other using hand jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and/or cabinets.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy, bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
  • Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
  • Performs online go-no-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production standards.
  • Protects themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies.
  • Identifies hazards in the workplace and reports them to management and/or safety coordinator.
  • Works with the EHS department to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are met for AS9100 certification.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 months of experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Passage of appropriate testing to advance in ABC certification program.
  • Knowledge of the English language, including grammar and composition.
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of production processes, quality control, and costs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in quality control.
  • Familiarity with safety and health policies in a manufacturing environment.
