About the position
GA Foods is seeking Assembly Workers to work on the Shelf Stable Line. The individual in this role will be responsible for assembling components as directed by Supervisors, including but not limited to boxing meals, checking quality, and more. This position is ideal for candidates who are looking for longevity and opportunities for advancement in their careers. The work schedule is for the 1st shift, which runs from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or until production is over. The workplace is described as great and comfortable, featuring good temperature control, clean areas, new break rooms, and free meals, among other amenities. The primary job duties involve manual labor, including portioning ingredients, boxing and packing items, and ensuring that the correct amount of the right product is placed into each box. Employees are expected to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene practices, operate equipment safely and efficiently, and inspect products at all stages to meet customer requirements. Additionally, workers will participate in cleaning equipment and areas, operator-based machine maintenance, and training programs. The role requires employees to meet schedule requirements, work with minimal supervision, and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Candidates must be able to read, write, and understand instructions in English and be willing to participate in all tasks necessary to complete the job, including end-of-shift clean-up and sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components as directed by Supervisors.
- Box meals and check quality of products.
- Portion ingredients by hand, including grasping, folding, and scooping.
- Put the correct amount of the right product into each box.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene practices.
- Operate equipment safely and in a timely manner.
- Inspect products at all stages to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Participate in cleaning equipment and areas in a safe and timely manner.
- Engage in operator-based machine maintenance and care.
- Participate in training programs.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly throughout the shift.
- Must be able to use motor coordination with finger dexterity for most of the workday.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, reach, lift, carry, pull, push, grasp, stoop, squat, bend, and stretch as needed throughout the shift.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion tasks primarily in a standing position for the entire shift.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand instructions, warnings, labels, and postings in English effectively.
- Must be able to meet schedule requirements and work with minimal supervision.
