About the position
The Assembly Material Handler position at King Electrical Manufacturing is an entry-level role focused on supporting the assembly lines by managing inventory and ensuring that all necessary materials are available for production. This position offers opportunities for growth within the company and requires a proactive attitude towards teamwork and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Pick orders and deliver parts to the assembly lines.
- Ensure each line is fully stocked with all materials needed to complete scheduled manufacturing orders (MOs).
- Use carts and pallet jacks to transport materials from pre-assembly staging to each assembly line.
- Perform daily cycle counts of Assembly managed inventory (AMI) and enter counts into the database.
- Maintain accurate Assembly inventory records.
- Use Microsoft Dynamics GP to track all product moves and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system counts.
- Rotate inventory when receiving new supplies (first in, first out).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Share knowledge and help train others as part of teamwork.
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts and communicate professionally.
Requirements
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately record inventory information.
- Working knowledge of computer basics (email, web browsing, simple documents or spreadsheets).
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English work directions, documents, and safety rules.
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry 15-30 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. when required.
- Ability to stand and walk for the full shift.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous material handling experience such as restocking or replenishment.
- Prior experience doing regular cycle counts.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar ERP/WMS software.
- Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routings.
- Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles.
