About the position

Aurora Casket Company, a subsidiary of Matthews International, is seeking a qualified Assembly Operator / Machine Operator for our Production Facility located in Aurora, Indiana. This position is integral to our Memorialization business segment, where the Assembly Operator will be responsible for the production and assembly of parts for our company’s products tailored for the memorial industry. The role offers a competitive starting rate of $19.50 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental insurance, a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), short-term disability, life insurance, paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan. As an Assembly Operator, you will work with production equipment in an industrial environment, utilizing machinery, hand tools, and power tools in a fast-paced setting. You will collaborate closely with production supervisors and operate different machinery to meet production needs. Your responsibilities will include determining parts to be manufactured based on orders and stock, observing and maintaining machinery operation, and identifying any defects or malfunctions. The role also involves multi-tasking and cross-training in other departments and machines, providing a dynamic work experience. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • 3+ years of previous assembly experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude and ability to use a variety of hand tools.
  • Basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
