About the position

The main focus of the Assembly Operator role is to assemble and inspect completed assemblies in compliance with documented procedures and standards for our product manufacturing. The role involves manually assembling various electronic hardware and parts to designated locations on electronics subassemblies and assemblies, soldering components into circuit boards while adhering to IPC standards, and performing visual inspections on finished assemblies. The Assembly Operator will also make corrections to finished assemblies when nonconformities are discovered, have the authority to release conforming product to the Stock or Systems Group, and perform weekly preventive maintenance on hand tools. Additionally, the operator will assist with the resolution of assembly-related issues as they arise and recommend improvements for productivity, maintain an orderly and presentable assembly area, keep records of inspections, test results, and detected nonconformities with correction, and participate in training on products and processes as applicable to this role and our Global Manufacturing Team.

Responsibilities

  • Manually assemble various electronic hardware and parts to designated locations on electronics subassemblies and assemblies.

Requirements

  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to solder components to circuit boards.
  • Basic understanding of hand tools and small machine tools.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to follow systematic processes and have good understanding of general safety procedures.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with a keen sense of attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to utilize a computer.
  • Comfortable with technology.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills required. Experience with MS Excel is desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with IPC 610 standards is a plus.
  • At least 2 years in electronic assembly experience preferred.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
