The Assembly Process Engineer plays a pivotal role in the Lynn Assembly Test Organization (LATO) by demonstrating leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes. This position is essential for supporting the Assembly Rotor Stack and Balance for GE Aerospace production and overhaul facilities. The engineer will utilize their experience to solve technical problems, develop and execute objectives, coach global teams, and effectively communicate with leadership to drive business goals. The role emphasizes the importance of best practice development and leveraging across various sites to ensure optimal performance in assembly processes. In this capacity, the engineer will be responsible for creating and teaching training materials related to engine assembly rotor stack and balance best practices. They will execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects while adhering to sound engineering principles and business standards. The engineer will act as a mentor to global engine assembly rotor teams, providing technical leadership and serving as a consulting resource to colleagues and customers. Regular communication and presentation of key project milestones to the leadership team will be a critical aspect of this role, as will participation in technical and program reviews. The engineer will work directly with global teams to leverage assembly best practices and will serve as the technical liaison to equipment manufacturers, ensuring that technical specifications are met and that machine/equipment delivery is timely. Some domestic and international travel will be required to fulfill these responsibilities effectively.
