About the position

Join our High Ridge, MO DRS Marlo Coil facility as an Assembly Specialist! As part of our Production team, you will perform a variety of advanced-level assembly functions including mechanical, printed circuit sub-assemblies, inspection, and more. This role is crucial in ensuring that we meet our customer commitments on schedule and within budget. You will be responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement. In this position, you will follow written work instructions and work under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are frequently non-routine. This means you will need to adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet special needs. You may also perform more detailed tasks that require deeper knowledge and experience in the specified processes and procedures. Effective communication with other functional departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales is essential. You will be expected to resolve most questions and problems independently, referring only the most complex issues to higher levels. As a self-starter, you will demonstrate good decision-making abilities and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures, including those governing the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS). Proper use of required PPE is mandatory. Additionally, you may periodically assist in orienting and training lower-level employees and participate in LEAN Events, “Six S” activities, and action teams. You will also support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization. Tasks may include soldering and installation of components to contract specifications, using a wide range of tools and equipment, and interpreting blueprints, Process Flow Instructions, and other written or verbal instructions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a specialty area such as welding or tool making.
