About the position

The Assembly Supervisor is a pivotal role within Carrier's manufacturing environment, responsible for overseeing a team of over 80 hourly employees. This position is situated in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting, as well as in low-volume complex work cells. The Assembly Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently, while also maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The supervisor will be tasked with developing and leading their team to meet operational goals, focusing on continuous improvement through effective training, coaching, and communication. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering a culture of safety and adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies. The supervisor will also be responsible for monitoring work order progress, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining accurate records of timecards and overtime. Additionally, the Assembly Supervisor will work closely with union representatives, ensuring compliance with the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of 80+ hourly employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Achieve operations, quality, and continuous improvement goals through training and coaching.
  • Champion continuous improvement tools to reduce downtime and improve quality.
  • Implement product and engineering changes successfully.
  • Promote adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies.
  • Monitor work order progress and ensure quality and timeliness of completion.
  • Maintain timecards and overtime records.
  • Maintain a working relationship with the union by following the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required.
  • 2+ years of supervision experience in the manufacturing and/or industrial field.

  • Experience in Six Sigma/Lean processes

  • Ability to learn and use software applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift, if needed.
