About the position
The Assembly Technician II role involves assembling and testing avionic LRUs and electrical-mechanical assemblies, with a strong emphasis on safety and detail. The technician will be responsible for maintaining lab equipment, executing test procedures, and contributing to process improvements while working in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
- Assemble and test avionic LRUs and electrical-mechanical assemblies
- Handle and install fiber-optics and PCBAs
- Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
- Support preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
- Identify equipment requirements and process improvements
- Maintain floor stock inventory
- Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
- Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
- Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients
- Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
- 1-3+ years relevant high traceability manufacturing experience (Aerospace, Medical or related field)
- 1+ years of hands-on work experience in Electrical-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration and/or Harness Integration
- 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced production environment
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices
- Experience with standard hand tools
Nice-to-haves
- Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) and/or Avionics certification/license
- ASE certification and/or equivalent experience
- CFOT certification and/or equivalent experience
- 1+ years reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
- Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Prior military service
