About the position

The Admissions Clinician (PRN) at Aiken Regional Medical Centers is responsible for conducting mental health assessments and facilitating admissions for individuals seeking treatment for emotional and behavioral disorders. This role involves collaborating with psychiatrists to determine the appropriate level of care, managing referrals, and ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders. The clinician plays a crucial role in maintaining high-quality patient care and documentation within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mental health assessments for admissions.
  • Communicate with psychiatrists to determine the level of care needed.
  • Facilitate admissions and referrals to and from other agencies and treatment centers.
  • Perform pre-certifications and utilization reviews.
  • Address needs of telephonic callers seeking assistance.
  • Document assessments and care coordination in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care with internal and external providers.
  • Maintain department records and statistics.
  • Participate in patient safety activities.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in intake and admissions in a mental health setting.
  • State License preferred (LISW, LMSW, LPC, etc.).
  • Minimum one year experience in a mental health setting performing assessments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
