About The Position

The Assessment Evaluation Placement Specialist position is located in the Office of Behavioral Interventions (OBI) within the Assessment, Evaluation and Placement Unit (AEPU). The role focuses on managing the selection and administration of assessments to identify offenders' criminogenic risks and needs, ensuring timely placement in appropriate cognitive behavioral interventions and other services. The specialist will conduct assessments, develop case plans, and collaborate with community supervision officers to monitor and support offenders' progress.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current licensure or certification to practice independently in the social services field (e.g., LISW, LICSW, LPC).
  • Successful completion of a full four-year course of study in an accredited college or university in behavioral or social sciences, or equivalent experience.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11, providing intensive case management services for offenders with mental health conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with evidence-based practices in community corrections.
  • Familiarity with risk-needs-responsivity principles.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a full range of assessments for offenders/defendants and develop integrated case plans based on assessment results.
  • Perform case management services utilizing social service program resources, develop and monitor treatment plans, set goals, assess client progress, and create reports on offenders' program performance.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings, providing rationale, explanations, and recommendations.
  • Work closely with Community Supervision Officers to develop and submit referrals for treatment services.
  • Compile weekly statistics on assessment recommendations and outcomes, maintaining clinical files according to quality assurance standards.
  • Handle all aspects of case management, maintaining expert knowledge of screeners, assessments, evaluations, and intervention services.
  • Administer assessments with fidelity and uphold knowledge of evidence-based practices in community corrections.
