About the position

This asset management role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the four asset classes: industrial, retail, office and multifamily. The portfolio will be spread between the greater Bay Area, Pacific Northwest, and San Diego. The portfolio includes core, value add and development opportunities across the asset classes. The candidate would directly work with three Vice Presidents and will be part of a collaborative team working closely with other asset managers, as well as portfolio management and acquisition teams. There is significant growth potential for the right candidate! This is both a qualitative and quantitative position, strong math and written skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial models for internal property valuations, dispositions, recapitalizations, lease analyses and waterfalls for joint-venture investments.
  • Assist in preparation, review and execution of annual property budgets and business plans.
  • Help develop and execute asset strategy to maximize value and meet portfolio objectives.
  • Accompany Asset Managers on property visits and market tours, as needed.
  • Provide oversight and develop strong relationships with third-party property managers, leasing brokers and joint-venture partners.
  • Work alongside asset managers overseeing construction of ground-up development and redevelopment opportunities.
  • Prepare presentation materials for Investment Committee, as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong academic credentials and BA or BS degree from an accredited institution, with preferred degrees in real estate, finance, business, accounting, economics or related area required.
  • 3-5 years of real estate/finance experience, preferably including one or more of the following: portfolio analysis, commercial real estate valuation, cash flow forecasting, acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, debt.
  • Proven analytical skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of discounted cash flow analysis in Argus Enterprise and/or Excel required.
  • Strong writing skills as well as verbal interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to function both in a team-oriented setting and independently.
  • Strong sense of personal motivation, responsibility and accountability.
