About the position

The Asset Management Operations Analyst is a key member of the GSE Asset Management team at Walker & Dunlop. This role provides support to the team and offers broad exposure to Servicing and Asset Management activities. The analyst will assist with critical functions such as inspections, operating statement analyses, and transaction support, contributing to the overall success of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspection scheduling and related communications with staff, vendors, and borrowers.
  • Coordinate, record, and review annual property inspections, including setting up and following up with property representatives/borrowers and inspectors.
  • Manage inspection-related email communications to Salesforce.
  • Update portfolio database as needed, including reviewing narratives for Operations & Maintenance Plans and property descriptions.
  • Reach out to borrowers and property representatives to update loan and property contacts as needed.
  • Collect annual and quarterly financial reports from borrowers and ensure documents are stored in appropriate Box folders.
  • Interact with borrowers regarding questions and follow up with non-responsive borrowers.
  • Assist in the creation of routine and ad hoc portfolio reports.
  • Review borrower requests for Replacement Reserves disbursement for compliance with loan documents.
  • Utilize accounting system to confirm wiring instructions and enact disbursements from escrow.
  • Complete additional asset management functions as needed.
  • Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous work experience in a corporate setting, preferably in servicing or commercial real estate finance.
  • Strong business sense and ability to prioritize work and find solutions to various problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, judgment, flexibility, and dependability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to show ownership of work and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while providing a strong individual contribution.
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to create and utilize spreadsheets.
  • Energetic self-starter.
