Responsibilities

  • Provide clients with superior customer service and assist in problem resolution.
  • Process and monitor necessary tax documentation and applications.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of tax trends, specifically relating to tax rules for airline expenses.
  • Collaborate with the business management and family office team to support various tasks relating to tax and asset management.
  • Keep meticulous records of flights and expenses related to business activities on behalf of clients.
  • Calculate eligible depreciation amounts and ensure compliance with the IRS guidelines.
  • Inform tax accountants of FET rates and indirect tax as it relates to private jets.
  • Identify eligible activities and expenses that qualify for federal tax credits from private jet owners.
  • Research the availability of state tax credits on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct market research and analyze aviation data and trends to monitor aircraft market values, listings, and sales to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Maintain accuracy of data in the aircraft values database.
  • Regularly share market insights as it relates to private jet transactions.
  • Examine FAA documents for aircraft ownership and transaction history.
  • Contribute to client deliverables such as providing presentations, reports, comparisons, financial models, and tax credits.
  • Identify potential business expenses and tax deduction opportunities on behalf of clients.
  • Liaise with third party private jet companies, pilots, and/or staff on behalf of clients, as directed.
  • Ensure Broker Rules compliance, adhering to DOT regulations on behalf of clients.
  • Remain well-versed on Standard Industry Fare Levels (SIFL)

Requirements

  • Ability to reliably commute and report to the Tri Star office.
  • Previous experience providing tax services in the asset management or private jet industries, required.
  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field highly preferred.
  • Experience using CCH, QuickBooks and Excel required.
