About the position

The Asset Manager will support a DOD SOCOM opportunity by developing and implementing asset management strategies for hardware and software assets. This role involves overseeing the tracking, auditing, and updating of physical and digital assets, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations, and collaborating with various teams to manage the lifecycle of assets effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements asset management strategies to manage inventories of hardware and software assets including laptops, mobile devices, software licenses, and supplier agreements.
  • Oversee the daily tracking, auditing, and updating of the SOCOM's physical and digital assets, ensuring that all equipment, systems, and materials are accurately recorded in inventory databases.
  • Ensure that all asset management activities comply with DoD regulations, including maintaining accurate records for audits and providing regular asset reports to senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor the lifecycle of assets, from procurement to disposal, including overseeing maintenance schedules, depreciation, and identifying assets that need to be upgraded or replaced.
  • Collaborate daily with procurement, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure that new assets are acquired according to DoD procedures, and that existing assets receive the necessary repairs or upgrades.
  • Identify potential risks to assets, such as damage, theft, or obsolescence, and develop mitigation strategies, including implementing asset protection measures and monitoring asset utilization.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years relevant experience and a BA/BS degree.
  • Associate's Degree plus 4 years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • 6 years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in managing and tracking assets, including experience with asset management systems and software tools.
  • Ability to analyze asset data and generate reports, including tracking usage, depreciation, and identifying trends that inform asset decisions.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles related to asset protection, including loss prevention, theft, and ensuring the physical security of assets.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work with Teams, but self-motivated to complete projects on your own.
  • Ability to work fully on-site with minimal accommodation.
