About the position

The Asset Manager is responsible for asset planning and strategy, asset performance analysis, housing and investment decision-making, and managing asset service provider agreements for all real property assets within the assigned area. This position is located in the Public Buildings Service, Region 1, Portfolio Management Division in Boston, MA, and involves occasional travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop supply side housing strategies by identifying and analyzing client-agency long term housing needs.
  • Evaluate asset housing capabilities, investment availability, and income impact.
  • Formulate budgets for specific assets by reviewing and approving various business line budget requests.
  • Analyze complex asset performance indicators in financial areas including costs, income, and return on investment.
  • Research data of significant complexity regarding the impact of new laws and regulations on asset expenditures.
  • Evaluate new space requests submitted by client agencies for major new or expansion space or major downsizes.
  • Coordinate with business lines on investment needed for proposed space solutions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Recommend approval, modification, or alternate housing project solutions to the Portfolio Manager.
  • Advise higher-level management on long-range plans for PBS.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
  • Meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date
  • Meet time-in-grade within 30 days of the closing date, if applicable
  • Register with Selective Service if you are a male born after 12/31/1959
  • Current or Former Political Appointees must disclose employment history to HR
  • Serve a one year probationary period, if required
  • Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 4 investigation level)
  • Complete a financial disclosure report to verify no conflict of interest.
