About the position

The Asset Manager at Transwest Inc. plays a crucial role in evaluating, reviewing, and researching various types of transportation equipment to accurately determine values for several asset classes. This position is responsible for overseeing the remarketing process for all returned equipment, including end-of-lease and repossessed assets. The Asset Manager collaborates closely with the Credit Department to assist in determining acceptable residual values and suggesting appropriate finance structures. This role requires a deep understanding of the transportation industry and the ability to stay informed about the latest market trends, changes in demand, and pricing activity within this sector. In addition to the analytical and evaluative responsibilities, the Asset Manager is tasked with managing the third-party appraisal and remarketing process. This includes negotiating and enforcing end-of-lease transactions and disposing of returned equipment. The Asset Manager must work collaboratively with customers, internal departments, and third parties to develop strategies that minimize loss and maximize asset value. Regular travel to client locations for on-site equipment inspections is a key component of this role, along with trips to manufacturers, vendors, and relevant industry gatherings as needed to fulfill job duties.
