About the position

The Asset Manager at Post Real Estate Group will play a crucial role in the expansion of the company by overseeing the performance of multifamily assets and ensuring strategic business planning. This position involves collaborating with property management teams, conducting financial reviews, and mentoring junior staff to enhance the overall performance of the asset portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate overall performance to assist in strategic business planning.
  • Assist Head of Asset Management in establishing and enforcing benchmarks, guidelines, and policies.
  • Perform monthly financial reviews, creating strategies to enhance asset performance and exceed budgeted cash flow.
  • Review and improve property operations including leasing, marketing strategy, expense analysis, staffing, and maintenance efficiency.
  • Negotiate major vendor contracts and pursue portfolio-wide expense reductions through vendor bidding.
  • Work collaboratively with property management teams to identify challenges and execute timely solutions.
  • Assist in renovation execution, including planning and monitoring impact on leasing and rental rates.
  • Conduct regular site visits to review curb appeal, capex projects, and personnel issues.
  • Problem solve property and portfolio level issues through research and analysis.
  • Assist in conducting due diligence and financial modeling for new acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Oversee and mentor Associates/Analysts to help them grow into asset managers.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory programs associated with individual properties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university, preferably in science, real estate, business, or finance.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in hands-on multifamily asset management and/or property management.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite Products.
  • Familiarity with Yardi and Entrata Systems preferred.
  • An analytical approach with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel to properties as required.
