About the position

The Asset Manager position at CN's Real Estate Department is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the real estate portfolio in the US. This role involves managing tenant relationships, preparing legal documentation for leases and sales, and conducting financial analysis to optimize cash flow. The position is integral to ensuring the efficient operation of CN's real estate assets, contributing to the company's overall success.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact with tenants in the US.
• Prepare real estate legal contract documentation for leases and sales.
• Administer the lease portfolio, including new leases, renewals, rent reviews, assignments, cancellations, and environmental considerations.
• Review site plans, encumbrances, surveys, and titles, and coordinate land sale closings with lawyers.
• Complete all related data administration in Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) and generate system reports.
• Provide financial analysis for contract renewals to maximize company free cash flow revenues and contributions.
• Review and process all financial expenses related to the US Real Estate portfolio.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of real estate contract management experience.
• Experience in a corporate real estate environment with a significant land portfolio or real estate law firm.
• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related experience.
• Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities.
• Knowledge of real estate contract law, practices, and transportation regulations.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of SAP, MapGuide (GIS), Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Experience in financial analysis related to real estate.
