About the position

Hill International is seeking an Asset/Move Project Manager I in Los Angeles, California, responsible for managing furniture, equipment, and relocation project management services. The role emphasizes FF&E selection, procurement coordination, and purchasing, ensuring effective management of move-in and relocation services for various projects. The position requires strategic oversight of FF&E programming, budgeting, scheduling, and installation, while coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of all FF&E programming, budgeting, and procurement.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to manage purchasing of all FF&E using best-value and/or low bid public contracting.
  • Work with the College Project Director (CPD) and Project Architects to identify project scope, budget, schedule, and FF&E requirements.
  • Tour college facilities to understand the Master Plan and project sequencing.
  • Identify and coordinate swing space needs with the college.
  • Develop scope of work for construction or FF&E required for swing space.
  • Create and validate FF&E budgets at key project milestones.
  • Attend weekly project meetings with project teams to ensure accurate FF&E specifications and layouts.
  • Review programming, design, and construction documents to ensure coordination of utility requirements with FF&E vendors.
  • Plan relocation of existing furniture and equipment with Building User Groups (BUGs).
  • Coordinate IT equipment procurement and installation with the Technology Project Manager.
  • Ensure project FF&E and Move budget and schedule are met through value engineering efforts.
  • Coordinate logistics for timely FF&E delivery, installation, and transition during moves.
  • Manage procurement of specialty contractors or movers for installations not covered by FF&E vendors.
  • Coordinate all FF&E deliveries and access with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain all FF&E and move management documentation and submit to the CPD.
  • Coordinate project close-out efforts for FF&E and Move services.

Requirements

  • 4 year College Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Construction/Project Management, Planning, Facilities Management, or related area required.
  • In lieu of a degree, 8-12 years of relevant experience required.
  • 6-10 years of project management and coordination experience in Move/Relocation Management, Project Management, Interior Design, or Facilities Management.
  • Ability to read architectural and furniture drawings.
  • Knowledge of furniture and equipment specifications and procurement.
  • Flexibility to work at various District colleges and site locations.
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Educational and Public Works experience.
  • Procurement, FF&E sourcing or asset management experience.
  • Knowledge/proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Proficiency in Visio or Design software.
  • Interior Design Certification CID, CCIDQ.
  • Membership with IIDA, AIA, IFMA, LEED Certified.
