About the position

The Asset/Move Project Manager II is responsible for managing Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) for various educational projects in Los Angeles. This role involves overseeing the entire process from programming and specification to procurement and installation, ensuring that all projects meet their functional occupancy requirements. The position also includes move management responsibilities, such as creating move scopes, coordinating bids, and overseeing onsite moves to ensure successful transitions into new or renovated spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Manage FF&E for new, renovated, and swing space projects.
  • Oversee move management including scope creation, bidding, and coordination.
  • Track budgets and schedules for all projects.
  • Coordinate with construction teams for installation and punch list activities.
  • Work with project teams to identify project scope, budget, and FF&E requirements.
  • Attend weekly project meetings to ensure accurate FF&E specifications and layouts.
  • Review programming, design, and construction documents for coordination with vendors.
  • Coordinate IT equipment procurement and installation with the Technology Project Manager.
  • Maintain all FF&E and move management documentation and submit reports as required.

Requirements

  • 4-year College Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, or related field.
  • 10-18 years of project management experience in Move/Relocation Management or related fields.
  • Ability to read architectural and furniture drawings.
  • Knowledge of furniture and equipment specifications and procurement.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, or Bluebeam software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Educational and Public Works experience.
  • Procurement or asset management experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software.
  • Interior Design Certification (CID, CCIDQ) or membership with IIDA, AIA, IFMA.
  • LEED Certification.
