About the position

OCI Energy LLC is seeking an experienced Asset and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This full-time position reports directly to the Director of EPC and Operations and plays a crucial role in the financial and operational management of our solar power generation facilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for overseeing the asset management, operations, and maintenance of OCI Energy's operating assets. As the Asset and O&M Manager, you will be tasked with ensuring the safety, performance, and reliability of our solar power generation assets. You will conduct proactive predictive and preventive maintenance, perform technical operational performance analysis, and generate reports for each facility. Your responsibilities will also include managing communication with internal and external parties, enforcing warranties and guarantees within contracts, and investigating site abnormalities to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Additionally, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback to enhance OCI Energy's development model. This position requires a strong focus on safety culture, with performance metrics measured against business goals. You will be responsible for driving a safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of the OCI Energy team and ensures compliance with environmental, health, and safety program management requirements. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong background in solar power plant asset management or operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the asset management, operations and maintenance, and monitoring of OCI Energy operating assets.
  • Perform all asset management duties required to optimize and maximize the generation of OCI Energy operating assets.
  • Ensure the short and long term safety, performance, and reliability for the assets.
  • Complete all reporting requirements within specified deadlines for the operating assets, internal and external.
  • Perform and oversee the performance evaluation of the operating assets, implementing necessary actions to increase revenue.
  • Supervise the work of direct reports.
  • Conduct proactive predictive and preventive maintenance and technical operational performance analysis.
  • Enable asset performance reporting and analysis of key performance metrics.
  • Improve corporate operational knowledge and awareness of solar power generation facilities through training and process improvement.
  • Investigate the allocation of solar array downtime and performance metrics, enforcing warranty and other guarantees within designated contracts.
  • Track and trend key operations & maintenance provider metrics, challenging manufacturer performance assessments.
  • Investigate site abnormalities to identify root causes, provide corrective actions, and incorporate lessons learned.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of OCI Energy operating assets and provide feedback to improve the development model.
  • Manage all warranty and contractual communication with customers, off takers, OEMs, transmission providers, and other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Drive a safety culture measured against business goals, including days away from work cases and high potential incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or other relevant area of study; Master's degree preferred.
  • Seven (7+) plus years of experience in solar power plant asset management or operations/maintenance.
  • Significant experience in operations or financial management, including contract administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced general computer operating skills, including advanced Microsoft Office® software suite (Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, Project®).
  • Ability to travel (estimated at 10%).

Nice-to-haves

  • Three plus (3+) years of demonstrated supervisory experience with engineering, operation, and technical staff.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level programs for hardware and software systems for remote data acquisition and control of solar power generation facilities.
  • Exposure to and understanding of environmental, health, and safety program management and requirements for power generation facilities.
