About the position
The Asset Protection Detective at Bloomingdale's is responsible for safeguarding the assets and individuals within the store. This role involves utilizing innovative technology and analytics to investigate theft and maintain a secure environment. The position requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to reduce store shortages.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome all customers while on the selling floor
- Identify, observe and apprehend individuals committing theft by shoplifting
- Participate in the store shortage reduction program in partnership with specific departments
- Maintain building safety and security, including opening and closing the building when appropriate
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years related experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate with diverse groups
- Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Must satisfy licensing requirements as required by state or local jurisdiction
- Experience operating and monitoring CCTV systems
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
