About the position

The Store Asset Protection Manager is responsible for overseeing the Asset Protection and shortage control programs within the store. This role focuses on preventing and detecting theft, managing investigations, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The manager serves as the primary liaison between the store and the Regional Asset Protection Manager, guiding the store team in addressing shortage-related issues and training associates on asset protection protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the Asset Protection and shortage control programs for the store.
  • Meet or exceed the store's shortage goals.
  • Guide store and Asset Protection Associates in investigations and training.
  • Communicate specific issues and concerns to the Regional Asset Protection Manager.
  • Ensure programs to prevent and detect internal theft are followed.
  • Direct and assist the store with investigations, interviews, and case procedures.
  • Review Asset Protection exception reports and cash discrepancies.
  • Assist store management in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper installation of covert cameras.
  • Promote associate awareness through customer approach programs.
  • Ensure all associates receive Asset Protection awareness training.
  • Distribute Traditions of Excellence material properly.
  • Train associates on emergency procedures such as robbery and fire.
  • Participate actively in shortage reduction programs.
  • Monitor and review paperwork systems to prevent shortages.
  • Train store management on the utilization of paperwork reports.
  • Oversee store shortage committees for compliance and effectiveness.
  • Interview and train Asset Protection candidates.
  • Document and communicate all Asset Protection activities and incidents in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Two-year college degree and/or two years of retail Asset Protection experience.
  • Familiarity with standard PCs and business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Ability to operate standard phone, computer, calculator, and other business machines.
