The Asset Protection/Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing the Asset Protection and Safety Program for a designated Navy Exchange, which has a sales volume ranging from $76 million to $125.9 million. This role involves a comprehensive approach to loss prevention, safety, and security, ensuring that all operations align with established policies and procedures. The manager will provide essential staff assistance to Exchange management in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating various loss prevention programs, which encompass safety protocols, physical security measures, and operational reviews. In this capacity, the manager will recommend and implement necessary modifications to existing programs, procedures, standards, and techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in loss prevention and asset protection. A significant aspect of the role includes managing and conducting investigations related to internal and external theft, unethical conduct, workplace violence, fraud, and other forms of abuse. The manager will ensure that all investigative activities adhere to departmental policies and protocols, maintaining a high standard of professionalism in documentation and reporting. Additionally, the Asset Protection/Safety Manager will serve as a collateral duty Safety Manager, tasked with creating a safe and secure environment for both associates and patrons. This includes administering the Navy Occupational Safety and Health and Fire Prevention Program, ensuring compliance with Department of Navy codes and standards. The manager will also be responsible for implementing safety training, awareness programs, and accident prevention initiatives across all assigned locations. The role requires hiring, training, mentoring, and supervising loss prevention and safety staff, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. Regular operational reviews and audits will be conducted to identify deficiencies and enhance compliance. The manager will collaborate closely with store operations to develop shrink committees and action plans aimed at addressing inventory shrinkage. Furthermore, the manager will oversee physical security programs, including CCTV, alarms, and key control systems, and participate in fiscal year-end store inventories, reporting any irregularities as necessary. The position demands strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders, including corporate, district, and store operations, as well as law enforcement officials. The manager will work independently under the general supervision of the District Asset Protection/Safety Manager, ensuring that all activities align with the mission and objectives of the Asset Protection/Safety Program. Incumbents must obtain and maintain a secret DOD Security Clearance, and U.S. Citizenship is required.
