About the position

As an Asset Protection & Safety Manager at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for both customers and associates. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and coordinate programs and processes aimed at minimizing loss while maintaining a safe working and shopping environment. This includes monitoring receiving, shipping, and selling patterns within the assigned store, as well as championing initiatives that improve safety, shrink, and security outcomes. You will work closely with the Store Operational Leadership team to ensure that all associates deliver friendly, professional, and timely service to customers. In this role, you will be seen as an expert on safety reports, guidelines, and regulations. You will monitor and solve for criminal activities, coach and train associates, and oversee inventory levels to help mitigate shrink and shortages. Additionally, you may need to respond to violent altercations to ensure the safety of customers and staff. Your ability to analyze business documents, conduct retail investigations, and utilize physical security systems will be essential to your success in this position. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, as you will need to be available for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts any day of the week. The role is typically full-time, with a commitment of 39 to 40 hours per week, although part-time options are available. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance and perform tasks that may require prolonged standing or sitting.

Responsibilities

  • Help the Store Operational Leadership team ensure associates deliver friendly, professional, timely service to customers.
  • Monitor receiving, shipping, and selling patterns for the assigned store.
  • Champion initiatives and establish processes and controls that improve safety/hazmat, shrink, and security outcomes.
  • Oversee and coordinate programs and processes to minimize loss while maintaining a safe working and shopping environment.
  • Monitor and solve for criminal activities and coach and train associates.
  • Oversee inventory levels to help with shrink and shortages.
  • Respond to violent altercations to keep customers and staff safe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of relevant work experience (e.g., retail or Asset Protection).
  • 2 years of experience directly or indirectly supervising employees including coaching, mentoring, directing, training, performance management, and recognition.
  • 2 years of experience as a Manager in a retail environment.
  • 1 year of experience conducting quality reviews/audits.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing business documents (e.g., P&L, exception reports).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting retail investigations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Safety, Business, or related Asset Protection field.
  • National certified training program (e.g., Wicklander-Zuwalski or Reed training).
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., APQ, APC) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in using physical security systems (e.g., CCTV, EAS).
