About the position

As an Asset Protection & Safety Manager at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for both customers and associates. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Store Operational Leadership team in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a clean and stocked store. You will monitor various operational aspects, including receiving, shipping, and selling patterns, to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with shrinkage and safety hazards. In this position, you will champion safety initiatives and establish processes that enhance safety, reduce shrink, and improve security outcomes. You will oversee and coordinate programs aimed at minimizing loss while ensuring a safe working and shopping environment. This includes monitoring criminal activities, coaching and training associates on safety protocols, and managing inventory levels to address shrink and shortages effectively. In the event of violent altercations, you will be responsible for responding appropriately to ensure the safety of customers and staff. As an expert in safety reports, guidelines, and regulations, you will be a key resource for the store in maintaining compliance and best practices in asset protection and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Operational Leadership team in delivering friendly and professional service to customers.
  • Monitor receiving, shipping, and selling patterns to identify potential risks.
  • Champion safety initiatives and establish processes to improve safety and security outcomes.
  • Oversee programs and processes to minimize loss and maintain a safe environment.
  • Monitor and address criminal activities within the store.
  • Coach and train associates on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Manage inventory levels to help reduce shrink and shortages.
  • Respond to violent altercations to ensure the safety of customers and staff.
  • Serve as an expert on safety reports, guidelines, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of relevant work experience (e.g., retail or Asset Protection).
  • 2 years of experience directly or indirectly supervising employees, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • 2 years of experience as a Manager in a retail environment.
  • 1 year of experience conducting quality reviews/audits.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing business documents (e.g., P&L, exception reports).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting retail investigations.
  • Experience in using physical security systems (e.g., CCTV, EAS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Safety, Business, or related Asset Protection field.
  • National certified training program (e.g., Wicklander-Zuwalski or Reed training).
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., APQ, APC) or equivalent experience.
