About the position

The Associate position in the GS Private Equity team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management involves developing and managing diversified private equity solutions for clients. The role focuses on investment strategy implementation, portfolio management, and performance optimization, while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful investment execution.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and implementation of new internal processes to invest cross-strategy portfolios
• Present investment opportunities to the investment working group through written and oral presentations, and conduct required follow-up
• Lead teams in coordinating the execution of investments, including working closely with internal and external parties
• Manage investment due diligence processes from prospective distribution partners assessing the GSPE investment vehicles
• Build complex portfolio models to help with portfolio management, focusing on asset build, liability management, liquidity management and performance optimization
• Develop investor updates and pitch decks outlining the investment products, their underlying holdings and the role of GSPE vehicles in portfolios
• Monitor the performance and risk profile of existing portfolio investments and compliance with investment guidelines

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Private Equity/Corporate Finance/M&A/Portfolio Management
• Sound investment judgment and outstanding numerical, analytical and valuation skills for the purpose of understanding private equity strategies and assessing investment opportunities
• Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills enabling the candidate to make robust recommendations to the Investment Committee and interact effectively with third parties
• Excellent time, people and project management skills
• Familiar with collaborative, cross functional teams
• Ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team
