About the position

As a Financial Analyst in the Private Wealth Management (PWM) division at Goldman Sachs, you will play a crucial role in supporting high net worth clients by providing relationship management and investment process assistance. This position requires a quick-thinking self-starter with a passion for financial markets and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) to monitor client portfolios, assess manager performance, and identify re-balancing opportunities. Your analytical skills will be essential in creating asset allocation proposals that align with client risk profiles and investment objectives, while also reflecting the firm's strategic views. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing client-facing materials that depict asset allocation and performance, as well as conducting due diligence on internal and third-party investment opportunities across both public and private markets. You will synthesize research material and communicate the firm's views to clients, ensuring they are well-informed about their investments. Additionally, you will support business development efforts by researching qualified prospects and tracking relevant capital raises, contributing to the overall growth of the PWM business. Goldman Sachs' PWM division specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions. The close relationship between PWM teams and clients allows for the delivery of customized strategies that leverage the firm's extensive resources and expertise. As a Financial Analyst, you will gain a broad-based understanding of the asset management business and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on client relationships and investment outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Private Wealth Advisors to assist with relationship management and investment processes for high net worth clients
  • Monitor client portfolios to assess manager performance, identify re-balancing opportunities and recommend tactical investment ideas
  • Create asset allocation proposals for new clients across a broad spectrum of managers, styles and vehicles to conform with client risk profiles and investment objectives, as well as the firm's strategic views
  • Prepare client-facing materials depicting asset allocation and performance
  • Diligence internal and third-party investment opportunities across the public and private markets
  • Synthesize research material and communicate firm views to clients
  • Support business development efforts by researching qualified prospects and tracking relevant capital raises

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
  • Strong interest in the financial markets and good investment sense/commercial instinct
  • Ability to multi-task and work with numerous colleagues and desks across the Firm
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • SIE, Series 7 and 63 required (must be obtained within three months of employment)
