About the position

As part of the Asset Management division at Goldman Sachs, the Consultant Relations team plays a crucial role in advising clients on investment strategies and manager selection. This team collaborates with over 100 investment consultant firms globally, providing insights and support to enhance asset allocation for a diverse range of clients. The Associate position within this team is designed for a data-oriented and commercially driven individual who will contribute to the data infrastructure necessary for Institutional Salespeople to attract new clients and maintain relationships with existing ones. In this role, you will support senior consultant relationship managers in delivering exceptional service to high-profile investment consultants. Your responsibilities will include creating streamlined and automated systems that provide actionable insights to Institutional Client Advisors. You will be tasked with sourcing, aggregating, manipulating, and visualizing market data to foster collaboration and drive efficiencies, ultimately enhancing institutional sales efforts. Additionally, you will research, track, and summarize progress with investment consultants, focusing on opportunities, product ratings, and market trends in asset allocation. A key aspect of this position is developing a close partnership with internal sales teams to commercialize strategies effectively. You will also run projects and assist in shaping the team's strategic direction, ensuring that the Consultant Relations team remains at the forefront of the asset management industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior consultant relationship managers in providing excellent service to high-profile investment consultants
  • Create streamlined, automated systems to provide actionable insights to Institutional Client Advisors
  • Source, aggregate, manipulate and visualize market data to increase collaboration and create efficiencies, ultimately driving institutional sales
  • Research, track and summarize progress with investment consultants, including opportunities, product ratings, and market trends in asset allocation
  • Develop a close partnership with internal sales teams to commercialize our strategies
  • Run projects and assist in developing team strategy

Requirements

  • Experience in Alteryx, Tableau/Power BI, or other business intelligence aggregators and visualization tools greatly preferred
  • 1-2 years of work experience at an asset manager, investment consultant, Goldman Sachs, or other financial firm preferred
  • Data extraction, manipulation, visualization and automation
  • Interpersonal skills: ability to build excellent working relationships with many internal and external parties
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team
  • Organized with good attention to detail
  • Salesforce proficiency preferred

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial modeling
  • Knowledge of investment strategies and asset allocation
