About the position

The Wealth Investment Solutions (WIS) team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management is seeking an Investment Product Manager to develop and refine investment strategies tailored to the needs of individual investors and wealth advisors. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create innovative investment products that address client needs and enhance advisor practices, all within a dynamic and resource-rich environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inform and drive the investment product roadmap in partnership with portfolio managers and WIS leadership.
  • Research optimal design for new wealth investment solution concepts with quantitative researchers and portfolio managers.
  • Write internal memos for new investment products to align stakeholders on product rationale and implementation details.
  • Develop technical front-to-back specifications and process maps for investment product design.
  • Maintain JIRA tickets, specifications, and documentation for each project.
  • Drive execution of front-to-back product development roadmap.
  • Create a testing plan and validate testing results to ensure smooth rollout of the product.
  • Leverage data and customer feedback to identify problem areas and strategic opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to use data points for high-quality decision making and prioritization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, financial engineering, or other STEM-related background.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a technical product manager, engineer, portfolio manager, or financial analyst in the investment industry.
  • Excellent communication skills across verbal, written emails, and PowerPoints; ability to discuss complex concepts succinctly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to document specifications and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Prudent judgement on risk management and client experience impact, with the ability to escalate as needed.
  • Willingness to delve into nuanced details for high-quality decision-making and risk management.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality investment products at scale.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership of projects.
