The Assignment Desk Editor plays a crucial role in the newsroom, focusing on breaking news and accountability stories. This position requires a team player who is organized, aggressive in pursuing breaking news, and a leader within the team. The ideal candidate will excel in communication, collaboration, and creativity, ensuring that the desk operates smoothly and effectively. The Assignment Desk Editor will be responsible for understanding what constitutes an accountability story and will actively seek out such stories in all their forms.
